SEMBDA President - Christoph Dundas christoph.dundas@austin.k12.mn.us
Austin High School
Christoph Dundas is in his 16th year of teaching, including 9 at Austin, 4 at Plainview-Elgin-Millville, and 3 in Lansing, IA. He is a graduate of St. Olaf College and is nearing completion of a Master of Music Education through the University of St. Thomas.
Dundas has recently served as the Region 1-2 Representative on the MMEA Board of Directors (2022-2025). He is the 2025 Austin Public Schools Teacher of the Year and has been nominated for 2025 Minnesota Teacher of the Year. Dundas conducted the Austin HS Wind Ensemble at the 2019 MMEA Conference and has presented multiple sessions at MMEA. Recently, Dundas has been a guest conductor for the 2023 NEMBDA 2nd Year Honor Band, 2017 Southern Minnesota 5th-6th Grade Honor Band, and pit orchestras for Summerset Theatre's productions of "Chicago" and "Sweeney Todd." He regularly judges Solo/Ensemble and Large Group contests and serves as a section coach and audition judge for numerous honor bands.
Outside of teaching, Dundas enjoys spending time with his wife and three children and remodeling a 100-year-old farmhouse. The Dundas family recently launched the Adelia Dundas Foundation in memory of his oldest daughter, with a mission of providing grants to families of children facing medical challenges.
